Sponsored Post: World Baking Day

I am not the kinda gal that always gets the baking bug, but when I do, trust me, I really do! I'm not one for a weekly bake, sometimes I honestly just don't have the patience but like I said before when I feel like baking one thing just doesn't seem enough (I end up making about 5, and a massive mess in the process, oops!). The only other exception is if I'm baking for someone else. Maybe a birthday or someone's having a bit of a crappy time, then a cake or a few biscuits will always cheer them up and then it feels pretty good getting your bake on in the kitchen if you know that'll be the end result.

To celebrate World Baking Day on the 17th of May, so not long away people (get planning!), Stork have come up with the 'Worlds Happiest Cake' and by the looks of it above, I can definitely see why. Not only would this cake make people happy through the process of eating it, baking is actually said to be therapeutic. It gives you a chance to be creative and mindful which is great for mental wellbeing. It gives you that chance to forget about everything going on in your life and just focus on what you're doing then and now and while in the process of making something amazing for your friends and family which will be spreading happiness even further. I'd never really thought of baking in this way before. I suppose when you think about it, it's more of the process of making something for someone than the end result. It's the thought of making it that makes them happy, not necessarily the end result, so don't worry if you're not that great in the kitchen (i'm pretty bad when it comes to baking so don't worry, you're not alone!) your friends and family will love what you've done anyway - and as the saying goes, it's the thought that counts, right?

I'm so excited to get involved with this campaign and I am pledging to bake a cake for my Dad on the 17th! It's a couple of days after his birthday and actually I won't have a chance to see him until the 17th when we head to Cornwall for a little week away, so I'll be sure to bring a sweet treat for him then. Perfect timing right? And of course, I'll let you see what I decide to bake!

You all should totally get involved too with this amazing campaign from Stork, bake for someone special on World Baking Day and make sure to include #worldbakingday to get involved. Send me a tweet or tag me too as I'd love to see what you make. Always looking for baking inspiration, that's probably why I love Pinterest so much. ALL THE AMAZING CAKES. The dream right?

Stay tuned for my bake on the 17th and of course I'd love to see yours too!

Who will you bake for?
