2014 Favourites: The Eyes and Brows

Next up in my 2014 favourites and something I’ve really gotten into this year… Eye makeup! I’ve always been a liner kind of girl but I’ve totally got the hang of blending this year and so the smoky eye has made quite a few appearances. Onto the products though that I’ve been loving and some that you just have to try this year if you haven’t already. Perhaps it’ll be in your 2015 favourites?

I’m going to start with the brows and it’s no surprise what I’m mentioning for this one… The HD Brows Kit is literally the only thing I’ve ever used on my brows. Before this came into my life, nothing happened on the brow front, I just left them. This product was a total life changer for me and I haven’t tried anything else because I’m just so impressed with this one. Perhaps 2015 is the year of trying something new? Let me know your recommendations please!

Onto the eye shadow front and of course the Urban Decay Naked 1 Palette gets a mention. I swear this will be in my 2014 favourites til’ the day I die. I just can’t imagine me not using this one. The perfect combo of eye shadows shades in a super buttery texture and it’s amazing what you get for the price. You need this if you don’t have it already, I can’t stress this enough! My MAC Shadow picks are my faves MAC All That Glitters andMAC Satin Taupe. Can you tell I like a nude/brown smoky eye yet? These shades work perfectly together, pop All That Glitters all over the lid and Satin Taupe in the outer corner and crease and your good to go. I would recommend picking up the UD Naked Palette over these though as they’re a lot more pricey and I rate them both the same.

NARS came into my life this year after hearing endless amounts of amazing things about it. You would have seen a little feature in Friday’s base post but this time I’m talking some of the most beautiful and luxurious shadows known to man and that’s the NARS Dual Intensity Eye Shadows in the shade Callisto*. The most perfect metallic silver glitter shade I’ve ever used and nothing stopped me from using this one. I got so much use out of this one throughout the month of December; it was Christmas after all, and basically all the other months since I got my hands on this one. It’s just so pretty.

Onto eye liner and I’m putting all of my love this year into this one eyeliner that has changed my liner life. Before the thought of attempting to get that perfect cat eye flick made me sick. I just could never get them even, one was always thicker, higher and longer than the other and it always looked so weird. Enter the Bourjois Mega Pen Eye Liner* and everything changed. Imagine a felt tip pen with a thick nib… It doesn’t sound too easy, but there’s just something about this that does make it that easy. It’s as though you’re literally just drawing it on. It’s as easy as that. Pen liners usually dry up so quick but these just don’t. You can use them for so long! As you can tell, I’m so impressed with these and I just can’t imagine using anything else and I still just can’t get over the budget price of this.

Another bit of Bourjois loving and it’s in the form of their Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara* and I have fallen hook, line and sinker for this baby. For the first part of the year I was still hooked on my ever loved Bobbi Brown Glamour Lash Mascara but as soon as I tried the Bourjois one, I never looked back. I did love it but this one was cheaper and I liked the effect better.

Just a few favourites there, a few very predictable ones and maybe a couple you might not have thought about!

What eye and brow products have you loved throughout 2014?

  5. You picked some lovely things! I'm still debating whether or not to buy All That Glitters, since I have far too many neutral eyeshadows, but it is just so pretty ahh. I think my top 2 brow/eye products from 2014 would have to be my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette and Benefit Gimme Brow - they are both so handy!
