Revlon Photo Ready Perfecting Primer - you can pick this at Boots here
I actually won this primer in a Glamour competition and generally isn't the type of product I would usually pick up. I can't really say that I primers in my usual make up routine and so wouldn't ever think of picking one up.
Boots says:
'Lightweight primer smoothes and softens skin to create the perfect canvas. Reduces the appearance of pores and fine lines. Wear alone or under foundation. Lights, camera, PhotoReady!'
This product feels so soft to the skin and applies really nicely. If your in need of a primer, I can't see why this wouldn't do the job but for me, really I feel as though its really an unnecessary step in my make-up routine. I felt exactly the same when I used the Benefit Porefessional... I don't know. I just really don't get the need for these. Perhaps I'm applying it wrong. If anyone could shed any light on this, definitely let me know!
Have you tried this product?
I have this and really like it! I don't often use a primer either but it blurs out my imperfections so well :) xx
ReplyDeleteah that's great, i'll have to give it another go! x
DeleteI almost picked this up the other day. I agree with you, primers seem a bit unnecessary and 9 times out of 10 they do absolutely nothing for me! x

I know! I just don't get it. x
DeleteI tried this and actually couldn't stand it! I don't often wear primer, only when I know I have a really full day ahead of me and that I won't have time to fix up my makeup. I really love a primer by Sephora because it seriously makes my makeup stay all day! I find this one from Revlon just doesn't do the same for.
ReplyDeleteCan understand :) x
DeleteI don't usually use primers either but i have been thinking of getting one. Not sure if i need it though

I can't really seem myself buying anymore, although I'm sure the beauty blogger in me will tempt me! x
DeleteI haven't found a primer that does anything for my skin yet :( I can't help thinking they're a waste of money but I will keep looking for the 'one' xx

I'm exactly the same!! x
DeleteThe only primer I use is the Illamasqua satin, but only when my skin is super dry because it helps give that dewy look when my skin is the opposite of dewy. Most of the time I feel the same as you, it's just another unnecessary step!

Ah may have to give it a go! Sounds nice, but yes, I just feel as though perhaps I don't need it! x
Deletepeople are always asking me for drugstore primer recommendations would you say this one is good

I wouldn't really recommend this one. x
DeleteHi Lorna, loving your blog background and title - new follower obviously, saw your comment on someones page and the name of your blog said - come and visit :-) I love a good primer, I haven't tried this one. - have you tried the Smashbox photo finish it is really good or Clarish Flash Balm for that special occasion? If you get the right primer, it makes all the difference to how long your makeup sits and you would notice a difference with the right one. Look forward to keeping up with your posts. ReplyDeleteohhh nice review :) xx

Primer is a must in my routine, I have combination skin though so I like to control the oil a bit more, & I like to diminish the look of my pores. I feel like if you have nicer, less oily skin a primer might not be as necessary, lucky for you! Lol

I loved this. I don't usually like drug store skin products (creams, primers etc) but I really liked this x
ReplyDeleteI often find that primers are abit hit and miss!
ReplyDeleteI much prefer BB creams as a foundation base or a foundation alternative for days when I'm wanting a more natural look.
I recently reviewed Garnier's BB cream for combination/oily skin on my blog if you would like to take a look.

Hi Lorna
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - primer is an unecessary step. I am currently trialing the Pixi Beauty one and it is nice and all.... but after serum, and moisturiser, it just left me a bit... oilier then usual.
Thanks
Jo
I just tried a new primer and LOVE it so I won't skip that step this summer!
ReplyDeleteWonder if this Revlon one helps with oil control.
