Headband - Topshop, Wig - Amazon, Dress - Ebay, Top (over the top of dress) - Monki, Socks - Topshop, Shoes - Topshop
I spent quite a while looking for my costume, I wanted it to be as Florence-like as possible. I was thinking about her in the Lungs era rather than the latest Ceremonials era. I was thinking floaty and fringing, and that's what I went for. I decided to layer a fringed top over this caped dress to give a much more interesting and detailed effect. I'd say the dress was a bit plain without it and it made it much more Florence. I bought my wig off Amazon, and actually there was a bit of a thing about this. I originally got sent a straight wig, when I had ordered a curly one. They quite quickly did rectify this and sent me a curly one in time for Alex's birthday and as a bonus, I got to keep both!
Alex went as the Machine and dressed up as a washing machine. We (meaning mainly me, haha) made the costume, and actually we were pretty happy with it. Unfortunately it wasn't quite as comfortable as we may have hoped...
This is a picture of the costume with the straight wig! At first I wasn't sure which wig to wear but we decided the curly one was better.
L-R: Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Florence and the Machine! Gary Barlow, (not too sure what Matt went as!), Kevin from Kevin and Perry, 'Lana Del Rey's Male Counterpart (not too sure what this meant! uh ohh.) and Dolly Parton!
There is another few pictures of everyone! I wouldn't really say the night went to plan as we had hoped but the dressing up was definitely fun. Hoping to get another use out of my costume at another point, hopefully for a better night out!
And here's a nice little picture I thought I would end the post on. My friend Tim wearing my Florence wig...
