Today's post is something a little different. I have been taking part in Money Supermarket's 'What's in your pocket?' Blogger Competition where they are celebrating that feeling you get when you have a little win. They are giving Blogger's £20 to see what they do with the money! You can read more about the idea here.
As I'm at University I can't really justify spending the money that I do have on expensive beauty products all of the time and I have been having a slight problem with the dehydration of my skin lately and so thought I would buy something to try and sort that out. I thought about all the products that I had been lusting after and was so tempted to just spend it on a new lipstick or blusher but decided to buy something that I really needed!
I eventually decided that I wanted to purchase an overnight mask and was torn between Clinique's Moisture Surge Overnight Mask and the Origins one which I eventually went for. I use a lot of the Moisture Surge products and really wanted to carry on with my collection as it does work really well for my skin but decided that I wanted to branch out a little and decided to purchase the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I had heard really great things about it sorting out dehydrated and dry skin in the blogosphere. I'll let you know already... I love it!
This is what the Origins website has to say about the product:
'Overnight mask to quench skins thirst.
Helps skin feel smoother and hydrated.
Skin depends on water for its youthful functioning. But all day long, skin loses vital moisture. And the busier you are, the more it loses. This intense moisture replacement mask deeply quenches compromised moisture reserves and builds a reservoir for tomorrow. Japanese Seaweed repairs skin's barrier to prevent future dehydration and signs of premature aging.'
The product is of quite a think consistency and is pretty much just like the texture of a moisturiser. You apply the product to your face - just like a moisturiser and leave it on overnight. I always find that the product has sunk in enough but if you need to, in the morning you can tissue off the excess.
The product smells amazing, I could literally smell it for hours! As you all know, I am literally the worst person at describing scents and so I won't try too hard but I will say that it smells pretty fruity.
The product applies like a dream and I always wake up very happy with the feel of my skin - it is always so soft! It has literally worked wonders with my skin and will forever be a staple in my routine in sorting out dehydration! I literally couldn't imagine being without it.
I would just like to thank Money Supermarket for giving me the chance to take part in this really lovely idea. There's a great video of the project here which I totally recommend you check out - it's really great.
Have you taken part in this? - Would love to see your posts!
Have you tried this mask or Clinique's Moisture Surge one? Did you like them?
I love this so much! The smell is absolutely gorgeous! I've been cheekily pickling up samples of it when I'm in store and am yet to buy it. It's defo on the list though.
ReplyDeleteI always feel weird about washing my face in the morning though because I feel like I'm washing all the goodness away and just drying out my skin again :( xx

It's really great. That's okay lovely, glad you like! x
DeleteI never used any moisturising masks as I have oily skin but every time someone writes about one I get super excited! They all sound like being an amazing beauty treat, only I wish they'd work for me
ReplyDeleteI really love them! xx
DeleteI've been eyeing this up, I might give it a go, thanks! x
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth the money! x
DeleteI'm loving overnight masks! Although it does feel strange with it on in be, ha!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try this but don't think my skin will appreciate it as it's oily/combination. I'm currently using a gel overnight mask by Jamela which I am loving. Hello brighter skin! x
i think the 10 minute mask version is better for oily skin, i'd check with a consultant first though :) x
DeleteLovely post! So many bloggers have sworn by this! Got to give it a try we think!
ReplyDeleteXox
